Our systems are modular and can be used to build a lighting system for a studio of any size. For the convenience of those people who just have a small and sometimes portable greenscreen, we offer some small kits that will save you a few dollars over ordering the separate components.

☺☻☺ Green Screen Lighting Kits ☺☻☺

You can design your own custom Green Screen Lighting system by selecting the types and number of components to fit your needs. But many people have only a 6 ft. or 8 ft. (wide) backdrop. We offer four kits that include what you will need to light a small backdrop such as these. The kit comes with either Low Density or High Density LED modules. Kits do not include supports, power supplies or cabling so you will need to purchase those elsewhere. The kit does include the hardware to mount the fasteners and mirrors. These kits also include a connector (with crimp pins) to be placed onto your power cable for powering the LED module chain.

White LED Modules

Our White LED Modules serve as basic units used to build lighting systems for virtual set studios. They require 12V DC power, which is an industry standard for driving LED strips. Many low cost power supplies (that are made for this purpose) are available from many manufacturers. The solder mask for these boards is white for maximum reflectivity. Each board can provide white light from 3000° Kelvin Warm White to 6500° Kelvin Cool White or anywhere in between using the appropriate dimmers or lighting controller. They are designed to be daisy-chained end to end for easy installation and reuse. There is a male connector at the supply end with a female connector at the other end for mounting the next board in series. Including their connectors, each board is one foot long making it easy to estimate the number needed for constructing a lighting rail. A single series of these boards can be used for lighting a chroma key backdrop. Multiple parallel rails can be used for lighting main stage areas. Watch the videos in the training section for tips on how to arrange these boards for lighting a chroma key studio.

LED Module Fasteners and Mirror

These custom fasteners securely attach LED modules to their supports. They are non-conductive, electrically isolating the modules from their surrounding environment. Modules are suspended in air to provide maximum cooling. This extends LED life. You will need one fastener for each LED module plus one more for the last one in a chain. For example: For eight modules in a chain, you will need nine fasteners. This will ensure adequate support at both ends for each module.

There are two types of fasteners. The SLF0 is used to mount LED modules that light the live action in the Main Stage Area. The SLF1 fastener serves as a mount for LED modules that light a Green Screen Backdrop. In addition to supporing LED modules, it provides mounting support for an acrylic mirror. You will need one SLF1 at each end of a mirror series. A single SLF1 will provide a mount for two adjacent mirrors. A third SLF1 is needed to provide additional support for the center of each mirror as well as support for two adjoining LED modules. Mirrors are 2 ft. long while LED modules are 1 ft. long so there are two LED modules for every mirror.

Our mirrors are made of 1/8" thick acrylic plastic and have a silvered backing. They come with a protective film which should be removed after installation. There are three pre-drilled and counter-sunk holes for mounting to three SLF1 fasteners. The counter-sunk side of the mirror faces the green screen. The middle hole is slightly off-center so that it will align with one hole in the SLF1 and still be centrally located to support the two LED modules where they join in the middle of the mirror. Mirrors come with appropriate mounting machine screws and nuts.

Power Cable Connectors

Use these parts to terminate the cables that supply power to our White LED Modules. Cables are constructed as extension cables so that they can be plugged end-to-end. A male connector is used to plug into a power source while a female connector is used to provide power to the next element in a chain. Cables made with these connector components can be used in several ways:

To run power directly from a power source to an LED Module
To run power from a dimmer to an LED Module
To make a gap between two LED Modules in series
To provide an angle between two LED Modules in series

Six-Zone Lighting Controller

Our 3rd-generation lighting controller is now in development. The SLC2 will support six zones: 4 White and 2 Color. Each White Zone has two Color Channels (Warm and Cool). Each Color Zone has three Color Channels (Red, Green and Blue). If desired, the two Color Zones can be used as two White Zones. In this case, only two of the three Channels in each Zone is used.

Refer to the table below for the discussion of Port Layout. The 10 ports are arranged along one side of the PCB. They are numbered left to right 0 ~ 9. The ports are paired for left and right stage operation but they don't have to be used this way. The two outer ports (far left=0 and far right=9) are unique in that they are the only ports for their respective zones. The next two ports inward (1&2 on the Left and 7&8 on the Right) are doubled so the left two provide double current for Zone 1 and the right two provide double current for Zone 4. The middle four ports are the Color Zones. Ports 3&4 are the outputs for Zone 2 while Ports 5&6 are the outputs for Zone 3.
